Greenhills Primary School encourages strong involvement and support from across the school community and has a very active School Council and Sub-Committtees and Junior School Council (JSC).

School Council

The School Council is the governing body of the school.  It meets on the third Monday of the month in the staff room at 7.00pm.  All parents and carers are welcome to attend.  Our current School Council President is Hilary Davis-Hill. The School Council includes parent, community and DEECD representatives.  The Parent representatives are elected to the Council for two-year terms.

There are also a number of school council sub-committees that parents can participate in. These include:

  • Community Relations
  • OH&S, Building and Maintenance
  • Policy
  • Canteen & Uniform
  • Parents Association
  • Outside of School Hours Care
  • Finance

Please fill out the form below and send it back to school if you would like to join a Sub-Committee.

Parents Association

The Parents Association (PA) organises regular fundraising and social events for the school.  These include the bi-annual school fete, Trivia Nights, Disco’s and Walkathons that raise money for additional facilities at the school.  Recently, the PA helped fund the purchase of additional computer equipment, interactive whiteboards and the new Prep Playground. It has also co-funded other initiatives including the School Chaplain.  The PA meets on the first Monday of the month at 7.00pm in the staff room.  All parents and carers are welcome to attend.

Junior School Council

The Junior School Council  is comprised of 8 students from grade 5 and 6 who are the elected Junior School Council "Executive". They have responsability for running Junior School Council. All other grades throughout the school have one representative.  The Junior School Council meet regularly to discuss fundraising activities, possible school improvements and leadership. The Junior School Council has successfully raised funds for such causes as World Vision and the Good Friday Appeal. Keep an eye on the website and the School Newsletter for upcoming JSC events!

Greenhills also provides other leadership opportunities for Grade 5/6 students, including House Captains, Choir Captains and Out of School Hours Care Captains.
